Han-ji info

siu-kái

I propose to put extra tags on the Hanji. (1)Chiàⁿ-jī(正字, standardrize), (2)Pún-jī(本字, original character), (3)Sio̍k-jī(俗字, common used alternatives). I know that there is no "standard" and people disagree on the original characters. But we can try to include those using some kind of current consensus. The nice thing of wiki is that we can update those info easily. Please take a look on Lâng as some kind of demo. Pektiong 04:52, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

I agree. -- Hiòng-êng 07:39, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Uniformity on Wiktionary Entries

siu-kái

What is preferable?

  1. If we use Bân-lâm-gí on one entry, we should also use Eng-gí on that entry. If we use Bân-lâm-gú on one entry, we should also also use Eng-gú on that entry.
  2. Use only gú for all entries.
  3. Use ony gí for all entries.
  4. Status quo. Whatever the contributor is comfortable with.

At this stage, I would prefer "Status quo". Tī hiān kai-tōaⁿ, góa khah chi-chhî "Status quo". Pektiong 11

Wiktionary Layout

siu-kái

We need a simple, easy to read layout explanation. I'll browse the en.wikt layout and suggest a format. -- Hiòng-êng 06:01, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Án-chóaⁿ hoan-e̍k "Wiktionary:Entry Layout"?

  • Wiktionary:?? Pán-bīn

or

  • Wiktionary:?? Pò·-kio̍k

Case Insensitive

siu-kái

Since we are now case insensitive and since en.wikt uses lower-case for entries as a rule, I think we should follow suit. Any objections? If not, in a few days, I will delete the Capitalized Entries that should be lower-cased so that we use only lower-caps except for the exceptions(Proper nouns etc).

no objection from me. Góa bô hóan-tùi. Pektiong 12:01, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Redundant Heading at en.wikt

siu-kái

Category:Bân-lâm-gú and Category:Min Nan has the same purpose. Since Min Nan Category has a more advance system. I have requested that Category:Bân-lâm-gú be deleted. If anyone would like to create interwiki articles to en.wikt, Please use the following format:

==Min Nan==
===Chinese Character===
* [[(the Chinese Character)]]
====Alternative forms==== (if there's one)
====(Part of Speech Ex. Noun)====
# (meaning)
[[Category:Min Nan]]

Please exclude translations. Since when they link to the english meaning, they would get the translations they need. At en.wikt, we are just an auxilliary language, not the main language. Only the main language needs the translations. -- Hiòng-êng 04:00, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

A-cai of en.wikt has been undergoing some work in developing a consistent look and feel for words in the Chinese Language Family. He would like that see and consider this format as in his example [1] and [2].

No harm in using such I guess.

kha-aū-chan

siu-kái

In kha-aū-chan, I found that can be the meaning, the problem is I do not know how to read it, since lomaji website have only chiap-chéng-jî-lâi 接踵而來 where 踵 reads chéng yet in Tai-gi Ji-tian, there are 3 ways to read this word, chióng, chéng & chan. Which is the right term? Hiòng-êng 06:04, 30 La̍k-goe̍h 2006 (UTC)
